There are many types of Two Way Radio available and Brentwood Communications are here to help you chose the system that best meets your requirements.

The first thing to decide is whether you need Non Licensed (PMR446) or Licensed Radios. Here is the main difference between the two:

PMR446 Radios (non-licensed)

  • There is no license to pay for
  • Typical Range is between 1km and 4km (depending on terrain)
  • There are 8 completely seperate Channels
  • Many other users share these Channels
  • It is not possible to extend the Range of these Radios

Licensed Radios

  • You must have a License to use these Radios
(We arrange this Free of Charge for you)
  • The lowest cost License is £60 which is payable every 3 years (3 Channels). You can use your Radios anywhere in the UK with this license
  • Typical Range is between 3km and 10km (depending on terrain)
  • You can have a License that has no other users sharing the channels
  • It is possible to extend the Range of these Radios
