Spurs Enhances Communications with Advanced Radio System
Brentwood Communications installs Xfin System from Team Simoco for more resilient and reliable communications between key staff working on match days at White Hart Lane Stadium
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has deployed an advanced radio system using Xfin technology from Team Simoco to enhance communication between staff working on match days at the stadium.
The Xfin system will be used by key staff at White Hart Lane, including managers in the control room, security personnel, as well as turnstile, maintenance and catering staff and will ensure more effective and co-ordinated communications across the ground. This will improve overall management and enable staff to respond effectively in any situation.
Designed, commissioned and installed by Brentwood Communications, the brand new 5-channel Xfin Trunk System from Team Simoco has completely replaced the club's previous 2-channel conventional system, providing more efficient communications for both everyday and heavy use on match days.
The Premiership football club has an average attendance of 35,000 and recent research proved Tottenham is the second loudest English club on match days . To ensure key staff are able to communicate effectively, the club has also purchased 100 2 wire covert kits, which will mainly be used by stewards in and around the stadium on match days to enable them to hear the radios.
James Miller of Brentwood Communications said: “The noise of the fans on match days can be overwhelming. The Xfin system allows staff to communicate quickly and easily anywhere in the ground, and has the flexibility to cope on the busiest of match days and in any situation.”
Ian Carr, managing director at Team Simoco commented: “In this environment rapid and clear communication is essential. Xfin delivers this in a highly resilient and reliable way to ensure the safety of the fans and staff at the ground.”
The security management at Tottenham Hotspur opted for a more efficient radio system as the club were moving its turnstiles to a new location. In association with this move the club considered a more advanced communications system to be an essential part of crowd management and safety planning; all new radios have an emergency function. These added safety features and overall better coverage help to ensure the security of all within the stadium.

Brentwood Install MOTOTRBO System into Kent Prison
Brentwood Communications have been chosen to install a Back Up Radio system in Rochester Prison following several discussions and surveys carried out in late 2008. The system was chosen mainly because it is encrypted and has enhanced coverage over the old conventional analogue system. ‘These advantages along with the Emergency Feature and Individual Calling have been fantastic’ a spokesperson said.
Over 60 MOTOTRBO Hand Portables along with a Repeater and Desk Top Base Station are used with several groups in and around the prison area.
10 Year Anniversary of ISO9000 certification!
Following a successful ISO9001:2000 quality inspection in December 2008 we are delighted to have been certified for our 10th year in succession. We gained the Quality Standard in 1998 which soon helped us gain a number of Government and MOD Contracts. Over the years we have grown but our quality of work and products have kept to the same high standards. A Big 'Well Done' to all the Brentwood team as we look forward to the next ten years!
The Sky Bar
The Sky Bar and Nightclub opened in December 2007 and is the largest sports bar in the UK.
- Boasting 86 Large Plasma Screens
- State of the Art 21st Century Breathtaking Sound and Light
- Amazing Live Entertainment and Sports Personalities / Superstars
- Exclusive V.I.P Area
- 4 Licensed Bars
- Restaurant Area
- World Class Music and Visuals
Brentwood Communications were asked to design and supply a radio system for the sky bar having been preferred supplier to the group for over 12 years. After discussing potential systems with the management we decided that the system needed to be licensed in order to provide sufficient power for complete radio coverage throughout the building. Brentwood Communications therefore supplied 40 Motorola CP040 4 channel radios each using a 2 wire covert kit to one of the UK’s latest venues. The CP040 was chosen mainly because it is high powered, robust and has excellent audio quality.
We applied for an on site private business radio license on behalf of Sky Bar and programmed the equipment accordingly. Upon delivery we set the radios and multi- chargers up for the Sky Bar and trained the management, door staff and bar staff in the effective use of equipment.
Since delivery and setup Sky Bar have been delighted with their new radio system and have added more CP040 radios for on site facilities.
