Features & Benefits
Individual calling – you can call other users instantly using this facility which offers safe and secure communication.
Group calling – you can define preset user groups, and speak to these groups at the touch of a button.
Lone worker – the radio user has to press their PTT (side button on the radio) at pre determined intervals. If they fail to do so an alarm procedure is set in motion. A popular feature of digital technology.
GPS – this feature enables all users to be located either internally within a building or externally. A perfect solution if user security is imperative. (link to existing GPS page)
Man Down – a great feature in which the radio is activated to work without having to push the side (PTT) button to transmit. Perfect for those who have to work alone in dangerous situations. If the radio is at a certain angle for a prolonged period then the audio will automatically open up, to enable the user to shout for help through the radio if necessary.
Licensing
If you decide to purchase licensed digital radios there is a legal requirement to apply for a frequency from OFCOM. We can take care of this for you. Prices can vary from £50.00 to £200.00 depending on whether you require a dedicated license for a specific site, or a UK general license to enable you to use radios anywhere in the UK. Please ask us to explain this to you in more detail – you can call us on 01277 225254. You can also view the OFCOM website at www.ofcom.org.uk.
Servicing
At the moment of writing most digital radios come with two years warranty – which reflects the manufactures confidence in their products. You can purchase an extended warranty on digital radios if you require. However, if after two years your radios do not perform as they did when they were new and you haven’t purchased extended warranty, we can service the radios for you and provide all replacement parts. Please visit our servicing & repair section or contact us for more information and costs.
