Battery Maintenance

All Motorola Rechargeable Batteries

  • Do use only Motorola approved equipment or chargers to charge Motorola batteries. Other chargers may not be compatible and could cause the battery to overheat, explode, or catch fire. Use of non-approved equipment voids the warranty
  • Do not immerse in liquids
  • Do charge batteries every 6 months during prolonged storage
  • Do not use chemical cleaners to clean batteries. Clean batteries only with a mild soap and damp cloth and dry thoroughly with a cloth
  • Do allow the battery to reach room temperature (at least one hour) before placing it in the charger
  • Do take batteries out of a charger when they are fully charged. Batteries allowed to remain in the charger for extended periods lose valuable cycle life
  • Do consider replacing batteries when runtime becomes notably reduced. Rechargeable batteries average a 2-year lifetime
  • Do leave the battery partially discharged if stored for extended periods
