U2 can have two way radios from Brentwood Communications

People at live concert

Brentwood Communications were approached by the organisers of the award winning event security and crowd management company Showsec to provide a two way radio communications solution for their crowd management at high profile venues.

Their specification was simple. To provide robust and reliable equipment able to withstand all kinds of weather and terrain and able to withstand high usage throughout the entire events

With such high profile gigs such as U2 at Wembley and Blur at the 02, we had to provide tried and tested radio technology and the client had to be sure that the radios would have 100% up time. Radio failure at such high profile events was not an option.

Education

young people walking into a university

Tabor Science College in Braintree, Essex approached Brentwood Communications to help them implement a radio solution for their internal and external communications within the college.

It was imperative that a "teachers on call" facility was incorporated into the system in the event of an emergency where additional members of staff needed to be contacted. In addition to this facility total coverage was needed so the radios could be used at lunch times and break times outside the college. The radios also had to be robust enough to be used externally for sports events throughout the year.

The reliability of the communications was paramount and it was necessary to have encrypted technology to ensure there was no eavesdropping into radio conversations. As a standard function the staff also needed to be able to send preset text messages to other users, as well as having the option of making and receiving group and individual calls. Maintaining the safety of staff and students was imperative therefore reliability, ease of use and coverage was important throughout the college.

Healthcare

Nurses walking through a corridor

A medium secure hospital approached Brentwood Communications when they required a reliable and secure radio system with the ability to offer private, group and Emergency Calling along with GPS functionality that provided 100% coverage throughout their entire site.

For health and safety reasons the hospital management needed to know exactly where the staff were at all times and needed to be able to react quickly if the safety of staff and patients was compromised.

Security was paramount for both staff and patients and it was imperative that the staff location could be monitored at all times. In the case of an emergency, the radio communications would alert staff and emergency procedures could be invoked. We considered all the requirements from the hospital and designed a GPS Radio System using Digital MOTOTRBO Radio Equipment from Motorola and a PC Based Dispatcher system for the office so they could see the exact location of all the radio users and could speak to them instantly. We chose the DP3600 GPS Hand Portable because of their robustness and added features like private, group and emergency calling.

The dispatcher software logs every call made whether it is group, individual, text message or emergency and can also voice record all calls made. It is also able to kill a lost or stolen radio and revive it if found.

HarBac - Harlow Town Centre Townlink

HARBAC (Harlow business against crime) approached Brentwood communications when they required an encrypted radio system for their members in the town and surrounding areas. Over 100 different locations from shops to police and council departments required radios linked to CCTV to provide instant communication.

We considered all the requirements from HarBac and designed a radio system using digital Mototrbo radio equipment from Motorola because of it's encryption and features like private, group and emergency calling. We chose DP3400 hand portable radios for most of the shops while the police and HarBac were supplied with the DP3600 display model so they can see who is calling and can speak to any radio privately if required.

After a successful radio coverage survey we installed a DM3000 digital repeater and antenna to ensure 100% coverage. We fitted a DR3000 desk top dispatcher with display in each of the CCTV locations so they could see who was calling. The CCTV control room can also kill a stolen or lost radio and revive it if found.
