Digital Radios for Londons newest skyscraper The Shard.
The Shard at London Bridge Quarter is redefining the London Skyline and has become a recognisable symbol throughout the world representing quality, innovation and 21st century design. The Shard which consists of offices, restaurants and residential living spaces occupies a vast space and is the tallest building in Western Europe.
Communications in such a large building need to be reliable and management at The shard approached Brentwood as we currently support their trunked radio system. The complexity of the project required our highly skilled engineers to adapt the current system to enable the new radios to work throughout the building.
Following a successful site test, Brentwood recommended digital two way radios. These radios deliver superior coverage, approximately 15-20% more than analogue radios, and clear audio quality. Users are also able to make and receive private calls with digital two way radios, which reduces the overall perceived level of noise on the radio.
Digital radios have many additional built in functions such as lone worker and remote monitoring, so in any event management can be sure health and safety of their staff is not compromised. Encryption also means that users can be sure that eavesdropping into conversations is practically impossible.
Brentwood recommended the Motorola DP3400 digital two way radios, which are available to hire and purchase.
